Gold!   Gold!   Gold!

Years 5S and 5B are experiencing GOLD FEVER at Shailer Park State School.   As part of this experience, they enjoyed the gold rush experience at Eureka Excursions where they panned for gold, constructed tents, bartered for tools at the general store, mapped their way around the site and finished by playing the gold rush game.  

After reading about gold being discovered at Shailer Park State School, years 5S and 5B were curious about this most precious metal.  They have discovered some amazing facts about the properties of gold, its history and what gold is used for. 

Now the students are looking forward to making their own miner's license, miner's tools and a model of a gold rush site, including our own Eureka Stockade.
