Integrated Unit
This term Year 6R is undertaking an integrated unit of work titled ‘Eco Enthusiasts’. As part of our investigation we are looking at –
As a culminating project, students will design and construct their own eco-friendly homes that will be on display for parents. Class Excursion
To complement the unit the students will have the opportunity to partake in an excursion to the SmartTIP in Browns Plains where they will participate in a program titled ‘Watch our Waste.
Literacy
The focus genres for the term include letter writing and persuasive speeches. Students will use their knowledge of the genre to write and present well-informed pieces that address environmental concerns.
Class Presentations
6R are continuing with weekly presentations this term. The topics include Newspaper Article, How to…, Country and Culture and Music review. It has been very pleasing to see the effort that students are putting into this independent task. Please encourage your child to be organised and well-prepared for their presentation.
Homework
Homework follows the same pattern as Term One whereby students have a set task for each night of the week. It is also expected that students read and practice their spelling on a nightly basis. Homework is due each Friday for marking.
